The first time I heard of Madonna’s songs was probably over the radio when I was a kid. I didn’t pay that much attention to who the singer was and preferred other non-pop genre music. Like Enya or classical music.
The second time I was exposed to Madonna’s songs was through the popular TV show Glee where they featured songs “Like A Virgin” and “Like A Prayer” — some of the most iconic Madonna songs. That was in 2010.
The third time was in researching this topic where I’m listening to some of Madonna’s popular songs of all time while writing this article. And certain songs are bringing back some memories like “Borderline” and “Music.”
Even though I’ve missed the intiatial wave of these influential songs, I can still understand why people say that Madonna is the ‘Queen of Pop’ and that her music and efforts have stretched the music industry.
