5 Small, But Very Effective Techniques To Boost Confidence

A lack of patience can cause a number of problems than you might think. I’ve already addressed the fact that lack of patience can be caused by us feeling anxious. Not to mention we can also feel stressed.

But one other thing that lack of patience can bring us to is actually depression.

Think about it.

When we act on impulse, some people can get angry to an almost absurd degree. Like a child throwing a tantrum when they can’t get something.

Even though for a child that’s basically whining, for an adult they may do something more mature. From firing people to yelling, deep down they may very well be depressed and lashing out is how they cope with it.

These people lack restraint and when something takes more of their time, they get flustered with it.

Of course there are ways around it and when dealing with depression there are many ways that you can handle it. Below I’d like to focus on the approach of boosting confidence.

These activities are small activities that you can do, but they prove to be quite effective when done on a routine basis.

Grooming Yourself & Dressing Nicely

We all wear clothes and it doesn’t take us very long to pick out an outfit for the day. One way you can boost your confidence is by picking clothing that you enjoy wearing or that you think looks nice on you.

Furthermore taking time out of your day to bathe, and present yourself nicely also helps.

Picture Who You Want To Be

Draw up your own self-image and obsess over it. Not to extreme points, but enough that you would like to become that sort of person. Not only that but the image alone is compelling enough for you to take action as well.

This will take time and will try your patience, however it still is key to boosting confidence and therefore our patience.

Understand Yourself

The activities that I’ve proposed so far suggest that you dedicate time to understanding yourself. There’s many others out there than reading books, going for walks, or talking to yourself naturally.

Some other things that you can do is ask deep meaningful questions, or take personality tests.

Be Kind & Generous

Someone who lacks patience is always in a hurry and doesn’t have time to be kind or generous to people. We see this all the time in videos where homeless people are asking for change and people keep walking by.

You can argue that’s because people can’t pay, but they also give this treatment to artists. Musicians on the streets do get some change, but they also get a lot of people passing by too.

My point is, take some time to pause and show some kindness to the world. It doesn’t have to be donating money to a good cause or someone on the streets. But showing kindness goes a long way in making you feel good and others too.

Speak Slowly

I’m pretty guilty of this at times and of course we all can speak pretty fast at times. Sure our speech speeds up when we are excited, but some people naturally talk quickly.

Take some time to take long pauses to gather your thoughts and to speak slowly and clearly. It does a lot of good than you might think.

Conclusion

These habits are simple, but they do try your patience to develop over time. Some of them are easy to get the hang of while others can be tougher in certain circumstances.

Regardless, these tactics can help in growing and developing yourself and provide a great opportunity to learn about yourself and grow your patience and confidence!
