A great read Emmanuel and this is very on point too. I find a lot of self-help gurus aren't able to get past that and we see it with all kinds of things.
Another big example that I can think of is network marketing where speakers and the people pitching that way of life push you to "make it to the top" when in reality not every person wants to do that. Even though many of those companies are complete scams, some are content with just buying some of the products and getting a discount. They don't care about recruiting people or making sales.
In the end, a lot of gurus will go with general advice in their articles because they have to. But I can imagine behind closed doors they will still do this too and can't look past their own circumstances, privileges, and opportuntiies either.
