About three years ago I did what you just did with little hesitation. I got the same kind of reactions that you may be anticipating from others. My friend told me that I did a pretty stupid move and I laughed it off. I was pretty excited for what the road ahead may be but nothing came to fruition.

I certainly know the struggle and what it is that you are going through. I made up my mind for what I wanted to be by 14 and ran after it for 9 years. Once I had it though, there was no sense of fulfilment. There was a sigh of relief but I realized then the path I picked wasn’t for me.

In fact a lot of the things you wrote about where things that I discovered for myself along the way. I realized eventually what drove me to the path I’m on right now. I never got any kind of awards or great achievements when I pursued my accounting career, but I realize now that that’s not what is important for me or making a boatload of money. It’s helping people and having enough to survive with.

Good luck out there Brooke!

I write (and sometimes do videos) about self-help for those who don't like self-help. Complete with the occasional memes and riffs on the industry that I love.
