How To Get Motivated To Achieve Your Goals
Three simple strategies that people don’t think of much.

I believe wholeheartedly that our goals are indeed achievable. Through exercising our brain, reinforcing it, having a support system, and of course a lot of hard work, what may seem so distant can actually be achievable.
It’s kind of scary in an awesome way when you actually think about it.
The only real issue that we have is that we have a tendency to get in our way. That, in turn, leads us to being unmotivated. We even come up with excuses to avoid our goals.
There’s definitely been some times in the recent past where I’ve said “screw it I’m letting myself be a vegetable today.” And I know for myself that’s not the best move. I know now that it’s because I’ve made a subconscious decision to bring myself back to that way of thinking.
But the thing is is that I get back up and I know since I can do it, you can do it too.
Here’s some things that I do to get motivated again and achieve my goals.
Refocus On Your Why
I don’t believe in the fact that if you fail, your why isn’t big enough. In the end, when your why is focused on something that you value as a person, you’ll do it. But over time some times you lose sight of that why.
Perhaps you are like me where it’s written in a document Iyoudon’t always see and in those situations you can feel lost. In that case it’s important to go back to it.
Why exactly did you start?
Why’d you go into business?
Why are you trying to lose weight?

Remind yourself why you are going through with all of this. Remind yourself why you are putting yourself “at risk” with the high hopes that you’ll change and grow into someone better.
There’s a number of ways to do this.
It can be reiterated through mantras, positive affirmations, or written somewhere where you can see it.
Even having someone or something to trigger that sort of thought process that prompts you to think of your why can work.
Get Back Into Being Involved In Your Community

Another big thing that I feel a lot of people are missing is community. I know for myself I wouldn’t be writing on Medium, guest posting on other peoples sites, or even making some level of money if it wasn’t for the community I’m in. I enjoy being around them and reading success story after success story.
For a lot of people it can be lonely running on their own and I believe one of the core ingredients today is community. When you are in a group or when you have a group it’s powerful and it should be leveraged.
In cases of lack of motivation or to keep yourself motivated, devote a bit of time to engaging. Of course relationships and bonds with these people helps on so many levels, but the nature of engaging can help tremendously.
Consuming Uplifting Content
The last thing, and this is a big one, is consuming uplifting content.
I listen to Gary Vaynerchuk when I need a direction or I feel just a little stuck.
I consume content from people and companies like Jay Shetty, Prince Ea, and GoalCast for continued motivation and ideas.
These are just some of the examples of peoples work that I watch and that I find inspiring. They have some seriously emotionally powerful work that rocks me to my core even if I’ve seen it before.
But the main thing is when you surround yourself and fill your news feed with that sort of content, it changes your thinking. I know if I subject myself to “poor thinking” I’ll be a poor minded thinker.
If I subject myself to violent, ignorant content I may very well think in a violent oriented and ignorant way.
I refuse to do that because I know that way of thinking doesn’t align with where I want to go. Since when has violence actually solved an issue?
My point is this sort of content keeps me motivated. I don’t use it as a main source as I believe self-motivating is far more important than any video or article you will ever read.
But since that content is there, and you are consuming it, you can get yourself pumped up and energize yourself. Furthermore, it can give you the chance to think of new ideas and new approaches to the problems that you face.
