How To Get Through Dark Times
Hey are you okay?
It all started with an innocent question. Gently asked because they wanted more details to the statement of “should electing Trump be even legal?”
I wanted to be helpful and point out plainly and clearly that Trump was a convicted felon.
Sure he could run for president and win, but considering how the country historically treats criminals, people could connect the dots that maybe electing a criminal isn’t the greatest of ideas.
The only problem was I couldn’t.
In Canada, a law called the Online News Acts prevents someone from sharing news articles online.
Of course the intended effect is to stomp out conspiracy theories on Facebook, however it could also culminate in what happened next.
Me saying “I can’t share a news source because Facebook won’t let me” resulted in a female commenter claiming that even Trump’s felony charges were a lie.
Even as several news agencies right now are saying Trump is the first convicted felon who will become president of the United States.
