I can understand that to an extent. Toxic masculinity is aggressive and more of that "alpha" attitude that women tend to favour. Being understanding, empathetic and compassionate aren't always registered when thinking of a possible mate, especially since they can seem more feminine qualities.

I believe it would still work out in the end though. Even though that's a base primal instinct to seek out the strong and aggressive, people do undestand deep down that when they're feeling down, they need someone empathetic and understanding. I think for those of us who are not about the toxic masculinity and more for the empathy and compassion would need to offer something extra to stand out more.
