I do understand the envy part as it can result in people stealing, leeching off you, or other things like that. I had an acquaintence a few years ago that I stopped talking to because as soon as he heard I was doing well, he was asking me for money. I spotted him before but seeing how the friendship was that, I cut ties with him.

I'm not certain if he felt envy for me or not but I'm already aware of what kind of behaviour people can have revolving around that.

I feel like if we talked more about it, and worked towards systems where money was more accessible, things might change.
