I’m glad that I was able to provide some guidance on that. Either way, if you see curation as a sort of goal to work towards, I think people will focus more on writing meaningful content. Curation is more of a reward for devoting time to research and writing a thoughtful piece. Even if you don’t get it, holding yourself to high standards is a good policy for writing in general.
On publications, you’d be surprised how easy it is to get into a publication. I know that publications can seem daunting, but as long as you can offer something unique, then you’re pretty good. Also getting to know some of the owners of publications helps as well. Some of the publications I’ve gotten into is because I’m part of a facebook group or I wrote an article that caught their interest.
