I'm of the mind that as long as older generations work with younger generations great things can happen. Each generation has their benefits and drawbacks. The rigorous and simple cycle your generation went through was good in that it can build up simple systems to execute. This can only mesh well with younger generations more individualistic approaches where we could effectively make simple systems that work well provided we devote to building them up bit by bit.
