I’m Tripping Up On A Habit I Just Started
And I’m okay with it.
10,000 steps every weekday.
That is my target this month and hopefully for October and November as well.
While I know the science behind taking 10,000 steps every day is wonky, one can’t deny that in principle, it’s decent advice. For someone looking to lose weight, challenging oneself to go for walks and do so for a few hours to knock out 10,000 steps is pretty good.
It’s something that I’ve embodied now as I want to be working on improving my health significantly in the tail end of this year and getting myself back on track towards that.
Especially since other problems in my life are easing up for me to focus on others.
But as I’m now four days into this habit I’m trying to develop, I’ve already been tripping up on it.
Yesterday was meant to be day three of this habit, and I only managed to knock out 3.5K steps instead of the full 10K.
For any would be habit builder, this would spell disaster. Missing out on a day of not doing this habit ought to have me crucified for going against my word.
If I wagered any money to a friend, I’d be handing them that money over right then and there.
