Interesting. That's the first time I heard about deep reading. I can kinda relate to that in that sometimes I spend minutes repeating the same sentence or paragraph whenever I'm writing an article. With reading I used to double back from time to time whenever I did pick up a book.

I'm in the same boat in terms of transportation too, though the public transit here is trash. I only remember the podcast stuff because whenever I drive with my parents we put on episodes of Car Talk.
