Interesting, I didn't know that about France. I can imagine there is some silver lining to all this in that the economy is bolstered a bit, but it really depends on the purpose of the job. If it's being hired for the sake of redundancy it wouldn't be as bad as being hired in order to secretly keep the status quo of stomping out competition or something.
