It’s definitely not easy running a Youtube channel, especially when there is a lot of mental baggage revolving around it. That being said, I believe in you Shannon and I’d agree that you’d make a great Youtube personality. I know from your writing alone I’ve been inspired by it on several occasions. Not to mention considering how much you’ve grown as a writer on here you can follow similar tactics on Youtube to grow a following there.

Despite all of your worries, remind yourself to do what you really want to do and stand by it. People will slowly come around to the idea, especially if you can appeal to them in some way. For example, when I decided to become a writer I had next to no support at all. Family members even questioned my decision. However just this Easter they were asking me about my blog, how much money I’m making, what my plans are and so on. I know my family is obviously different than yours, but I’m sure you can be clever in convincing your mother — should she ever find out — that making videos and writing is helpful to you. It merely takes time.
