It’s Okay To Change Your Mind

Part of our growth is learning to be less wrong about something.

I’ve been in the self-help industry since 2015 and I can say with confidence who I was back then is unlike who I am now. A lot has changed and a lot of it has to do with one part of my life.

The fact I was so wrong about a variety of things that I encountered along the way.

This is a reoccuring theme in my life where I consistently make mistakes or are wrong about certain things. You can see in my writing about certain things that didn’t age well at all.

Like the time I complimented Nikki Haley for putting up with Trump.

I knew even at the time of writing those words, they wouldn’t age well at all. But I wrote them down anyway.

At the beginning, I believed that this fact about my life was a detriment to my creditability. A self-help guru ought to be confident in their answers, their advice, and guidance at all times. If not, how are we to be guiding other people who seek us?

But the more I learned, the more I realized how important it is to pivot, to change your mind, and to admit that you are wrong about something. It’s one of the most powerful things a guru can do.
