So You Say You Need More Confidence? Try This.

Confidence and self esteem go hand in hand in our lives. I know this most of all.

When I was younger I had a lack of confidence in a variety of areas of my life. I wasn’t at all happy with my figure, but I also struggled a lot with engaging with other people.

I was an interesting case in the sense I enjoyed being around others, but had issues with properly conveying my feelings and communicating properly.

Needless to say, I was a complete and utter mess.

All through middle school and high school I had to deal with the issues of this.

But as I’m now older and wiser, I know there are some things that I should’ve done in the past. Obviously, I can’t go back in time and change things, but that still doesn’t take away the fact that the lessons we learn in the past can still be applied today.

Even today, a lot of people lack confidence in the abilities and that can hamper their self esteem as well.

My accountability partner struggles with making videos and I’ve been encouraging him day by day to make them.

Other people struggle asking their boss for a raise.

Some people purposely avoid difficult conversations which can cause rifts in their connections with others.

People lack trust in other people because they think they are not worth their time.

It’s painful to think that way and that’s really not the case.

Those kind of thoughts stem from us lacking confidence in certain areas and not dealing with them. Instead we try to soften the blow by shifting them away.

It’s for that reason why I lacked basic social skills and didn’t catch on to them until I was 18 years old.

So instead of wallowing in lack of confidence or trying to move the attention away, it’s smarter to face the problem head on. In order to do that, you need to work on one simple thing.

Grow Your Mindset

Simple right?

I was able to overcome a lot of the issues mainly due to my innate curiosity for myself.

Sure there is some level of narcissism in there, but we all are a bit narcissistic aren’t we?

By taking time to growing your mindset we begin to learn more and more about what issues we have and how to deal with them.

For myself, I learned that my figure was a huge sore spot for my lack of confidence. There is also the case where I had a lot of past trauma that I held onto in the back of my mind.

I wouldn’t have figured that out if I kept on complaining or made no movements.

I discovered this by taking massive and bold steps. Some of those were travelling across Canada, others were getting out of my comfort zone and into a new environment.

We can all do the same as we take the time to learn and discover ourselves. From who we are to where we want to go in life, what we say and what we do can create these disconnections. It’s our responsibility to understand why there is that.

There Will Always Be Opportunities To Grow

In our lives today there is always more room to grow. In fact, growing is an essential part to our lives.

When we don’t, we of course lag behind and that can cause issues.

Past thoughts do not work on present and future problems that we face. In order to stay caught up, we must dedicate time to learning about ourselves and of our surroundings.

This in turn can make us feel more confident about our future as we do things that we’ve never done before.

It’s the main reason why I’ve dedicated time to doing something that I’ve never done before.

That is, building another website, and managing it personally yet again.

A Bold Step

It’s a bold step for me, but I believe it’s fitting for the topic at hand.

It revolves around boosting low self esteem and confidence.

I believe that I can continue to grow myself by pushing myself beyond the comfort zone that I have. For some time I’ve been comfortable managing the little work that I’m doing, but I believe I can get more out of my day.

As a result, I’m challenging myself to bring another blog up and to make it thrive. My goal for the site is to give myself a learning experience, but also to help other people who lack belief in themselves.

You could say I’m a warrior writer towards getting people to do the things they keep brushing off.

So if you need some guidance and support for anything, take the time to grow your mindset. Indulge in self discovery.

But you can also get there faster through reading.

Maybe my words have made something click in your head and you found enough encouragement to do what you want to do. That’s great.

However the road to building confidence and self esteem is long. You’ll need resources and perhaps more guidance. This is where I can help you grow even further. But it’s up to you to make that first step.

The choice is yours. By taking a bold step, you are one step closer. When you start to accept that there is still much to learn, the true growth can begin.

To your growth!
