Thanks for pointing that out, I made a quick edit to include that. Basically when you have different view points you can have more solutions to problems, different skill sets to tackle different problems amongst other things. While you could find that among the same gender and race in some situations, it's more efficient and much faster to hire and have a mixture.
It coincides with the concept of having a diverse portfolio in investing. Sure putting all of your money into stocks in one industry would give you better growths, but mixing it up and spreading it across multiple industries, you guarantee steady reliability and growth. Your wins and losses aren't as spikey. Diversity works in the same sort of way.
