I am by no means a massive success, and yet I find myself having a desire to jump from project to project.
I want to become a success as a writer.
But I also am looking to become someone who makes videos and occasionally plays video games for a living.
I’d like to publish books on helping people lead better lives.
But I also am driven to live a better life than where I’m at right now. Better health, better mind, better relationships, etc.
The list goes on and on and there is only so much that a single person can do.
These simple desires require a strict regimen that I need to follow as well as have a team of people to help me achieve this sort of lifestyle.
But all of this is a reminder of why we need to be evolving and adapting to the world around us.
Jeff Bezos Knows
Jeff Bezos knows this all too well. He moved from a comfortable life as a hedge fund manager to being the owner of Amazon.com. There were a lot of risky plays throughout, but he took them.
He knew he had to be adaptive with the times and he was. He moved from idea to idea and was willing to jump into areas he didn’t have experience before.
What all of this means for us is for us to evolve is to do things that break the mold of our lives.
This can be putting effort into a new income stream.
Developing a new habit or marketing strategy.
Branding yourself in a different way.
These things are what define who we are and to change, add, or remove things is to further evolve ourselves into who we want to be.
Evolving is important for us no matter the occupation that we pick up. When we stop evolving we stop learning and as Albert Einstein famously said:
“Once you stop learning, you start dying.”
As much as growing your business is important, it’s important to know what other desires that you have. What else are you looking to pursue and achieve in your life?
Those things are important as they are steps to your evolution and shouldn’t be brushed aside or overlooked.
To your growth!

Yesterday was Medium Monday in the group I participated in so I was tied up all morning putting together a post for yesterday. I didn’t do much writing after that and took the opportunity to write down and discuss my goals with my accountability partner.
We talked about a variety of things, and of course set our goals for the week and the next week. There’s a lot on my plate but I’m eager to be pushing forward.
On a side note I’m also been feeling pretty good, but I’m at the point where I feel I need a haircut. It’s that time of year again.
