The Long Road Ahead Is Worth It
The Daily Grind #14

The road of an entrepreneur is a long one. There are twists and turns to it, good weeks and bad weeks.
This week, though I was initially excited for it, the week wasn’t as fulfilling as I’d had hoped.
Don’t get me wrong, there were some great things to celebrate. The fact I got another client and that I’ve made some crucial steps. Furthermore I’ve learned some new things to keep in mind for the road ahead.
But some times the road can be tough and you can feel overwhelmed by it. I’ve been kind of in that state for the past few hours before writing this.
There are a few things you can remember and remind yourself often of the road ahead. It makes the journey more bearable.
Deep Breath And Divide
Divide your tasks up and break things into small steps. That much is a given tactic for us all. It’s the small steps that lead us to big moves that build up that momentum for us.
What I don’t believe is talked enough though is to breath deeply once in a while.
Lately I’ve been focusing on work and nothing but it. I’ve neglected my goals, hence why I don’t think it’s as fulfilling, amongst other things. I’m sure if I took deep breathing more, I would take priority of the things that I need to do and what I should be focusing on.
Deep breathing calms our nerves and honestly it keeps my head in the game. I believe the same case is for other people as well should they take this up. It allows us a chance to refocus and not get overwhelmed by the amount of work that we have to do.
I see the deep breath as a reward for finish a task. Even though I’m not the shining example of applying it, I do make a commitment to use it at times where I do feel overwhelmed. It’s a last resort for me, but I believe doing this more in our lives can help us in a variety of ways.
Give Yourself A Pep Talk
Another thing that can help is a pep talk. Whether from someone else or yourself to yourself, it’s something I think is undervalued as well.
We have affirmations, but if I’m being honest with myself, I don’t practice them. My affirmations are more like pep talks to myself.
It’s reaffirming things I already know, but again, need a reminder of.
I get distracted at times when my focus isn’t entirely there.
Not to mention juggling between so many things some times makes me feel overwhelmed as well.
But by doing that pep talk, I better prepare myself for the road ahead and keep myself on track.
A pep talk can prepare for the long road ahead in a variety of fashions. From realigning yourself, to discovering what it is that you want to do.
It’s a long road after all and you need to have the upmost clarity in what you want to do and to not get into your head too much.
I Remind Myself Of These
Days like today when there is a lot going on and I feel a bit overwhelmed, I remind myself to do these things. After some time, I start to calm down and get right back on track, but before it took a lot longer.
The road is long, but all the more worth it as we learn and discover new things.
To your growth!

Yesterday I spent time with my cousin once more after a nice work session. By no means is it getting me to finish up my goals for the week, however there are a few other big things that are going to be happening next week.
The wait is all worth it. Provided that I keep my cool and the head in the game!
