When You Are Stiff & Sore, Do These Things
The Daily Grind #22

We’ve all been in the situation before where we pushed ourselves too far and we pay for it the next day.
For me, that was going on an adventure in the woods.
Don’t get me wrong, it was fun and different, however it left me sore. In fact, I’m still a little stiff and sore at the time of writing this.
But there are a few things that I believe we should all be doing during this time. As much as growing is important, it’s during these times where the smallest actions can prove to be powerful to us.
We Should Relax, But Only A Little
The first is relax.
This isn’t to say we should do nothing at all.
However we should allow ourselves a period of time to relax and slow down. Much like a surfer riding a wave, there is still some momentum after everything is said and done.
Use that momentum to leave things as it is and rely on others to push you forward in that moment.
Even if it’s relatively small, it’s still enough to give you a bit of a boost. Hence it gives you some breathing room.
I believe this is crucial mainly for the other reasons I’ll be talking about below.
We Should Reflect, And Express Gratitude
Gary Vaynerchuk has said a number of things. But the one thing that I can agree with from him is his concept of humbleness and gratitude.
I’m thankful that I’m in the position that I’m in and I strive to be as humble about my achievements as possible.
I’ve only been able to get to that point by merely reflecting on the things that I’ve done and what I’m aspiring to do.
Reflecting during the time where we are relaxing is key. Like I said, we got that breathing room so why not use it to pause and reflect. Express our thanks for making it this far.
How you share your gratitude is up to you. For me, it’s announcements and telling friends. So long as you tell people about it, that is what matters. But be mindful you’re not saying it for the sake of attention.
Relax, Reflect, Show Gratitude
This isn’t some take a step back bullshit, it’s learning to use the momentum to push you forward. It’s riding the wave down after a thrilling experience and allow yourself time to recover.
But while our body is healing and bringing itself back up, this isn’t a reason to not exercise our brain. Our brain is powerful and does need a work out as well. So figuring out next steps but also looking at your achievements and staying humble become a way of celebrating how far we’ve made it.
To your growth!

Yesterday I was completely out of it. Stiff and sore all over I spent a lot of my time watching Youtube videos. Of course I did do some work since my new website is being launched literally the same time this post is available for you all to read.
Furthermore I still had client work and many other things that needed addressed too.
But even with that, I worked at my own pace, deciding my next moves to be making. And I’m getting excited over it.
