You Are Already So Confident In Yourself
You already have the tools and the know how to boost your confidence and convince others you’re confident.
Outside of psychological research, pinpointing the definition of self-confidence has been difficult. Some define it as the belief in oneself while others think it’s a self-evaluation of current abilities and how they measure up to their future expectations or demands.
In both of those instances, I think that both parties are correct. Looking at Psychology Dictionary’s definition of self-confidence they define it in two ways:
- Our self-assurance in trusting our abilities, capacities and judgements;
- the belief that we can meet the demands of a task. To be confident in what I have done is okay.
But why does this matter?
Because these days, people struggle with self-confidence. It’s to the point that people believe there are some sneaky hacks to boosting confidence. Or maybe you have to lie and manipulate someone to convince them you’re confident.
And I don’t think that’s right. Especially when I know that we already have the tools necessary to be confident in ourselves. Not to mention, there are other things at play that are making us think this way.
