You Don’t Need A Winter Arc To Be Better

Picking the moment doesn’t equal genuine growth.

One of the biggest issues that I have in my life in terms of growing is that I sometimes “pick my moments.”

While on one end I know it’s a trap and one that I’ve fallen into time and again. However the other side is I find a way to justify it. I have something new that can get me to approach the situation in a perceived better manner.

I see someone doing something similar and get inspired. That or I think about my own motivation and plans of action in a different way than before.

This was the issue that I ran into when I heard of something called a winter arc — this period of time where you are laser-focused on particular goals.

The window of this time supposedly starts in October and through the last quarter of the year, the focus is setting yourself up for the genuine winter months that come at the beginning of the new year. It’s something that has gained a lot of traction on TikTok where these kinds of challenges have been captivating the self-help sphere for some time. After all, this was the same space that brought the idea of Shadow Work — something that I believe does some genuine good for this industry.

I write (and sometimes do videos) about self-help for those who don't like self-help. Complete with the occasional memes and riffs on the industry that I love.
